OUR FACILITY

As we are an educator owned & operated service,

OUR FACILITY

the children's wellbeing was the priority of our design.

As an Educator owned and operated Early Learning and Care service, our priority has always been and continues to be, the children.

Every decision made at SK, revolves around the children's development and wellbeing.

Located on approx. 1000 square metres, we have the ability to cater for upto 59 children per day. But, we CHOOSE ONLY to cater for a maximum 29 per day. You may be wondering why?

Well, there's a two main reasons.

We view Early Childhood Development as a stepping stone between home and primary school.  A child may live with Mum, Dad and a sibling or two. So transitioning from a small and intimate environment like home to a significantly larger environment like a 40 or more place service may be overwhelming contributing to unecessary stress and anxiety.

Health and Safety.  It comes down to statistics, probability and risk management.  More children equates to increased exposure to illness, accidents and more challenging emergency evacuation practices.

Since 1975, we have helped many little acorns on their journey to become MIGHTY OAK trees.

The environment plays a significant role in children's development. Hence our desire to create and offer a magical space for children to explore and feel comfortable. To feel safe and reassured when being vulnerable as they start taking risks becoming students for life and ready to THRIVE by 5.

OUR OUTDOOR SPACE

OUR OUTDOOR SPACE

The natural beauty of mother nature can be found everywhere

in our magical outdoor play space.

Playing outside gives your child the chance to explore the natural environment and have adventures. They can play games, test their physical limits, express themselves and build their self-confidence.

Outdoor play can also mean more mess – and more mess often means more fun!

When your child is outside, they will have more space and freedom for big movements, like running, jumping, kicking and throwing. Physical activities like these are not only good, but ESSENTIAL for your child’s health, fitness and physical development.

Spending time outdoors may also lower your child’s chances of developing short-sightedness. And a bit of safe play in the sun can be good too, as small amounts of sunlight exposure can help boost vitamin D levels naturally.

OUR INDOOR SPACE

OUR INDOOR SPACE

Looks like Home and feels like Home, Nurturing and Nourishing

At SK, we acknowledge a child is more likely to feel they can be themselves and develop a sense of belonging, when their classroom environment feels safe, comfortable and familiar.  Hence, like home.

Remember children may spend several hours a day in our classroom. So creating a relaxing, home-like environment is critical.

It can be overwhelming to spend many hours in spaces that are visually overwhelming, with bright lights or bright colours.

Our home-like classroom environment, offer children the opportunity to seek calm when they need it.

Children engage in our challenging, exciting and fun curriculum feeling comfortable, safe and supported.
